Year Completed: 2003
Client: City of Mackinac Island
Market sector: Historic preservation

Constructed in 1839, the Michilimackinac Courthouse on Mackinac Island, Michigan, serves to this day as the Island’s police station, courthouse and a point of interest to tourists and residents alike. Yellowstone’s work on the courthouse included restoration and accessibility improvements throughout, as well as an extensive rehabilitation of the police station to ensure that it would accommodate modern technical and functional needs. Additionally, we worked on the replacement of deteriorating building elements, and structural repairs and mitigation to ensure the building’s safety and integrity for years to come.
