Timing is critical on every project, but when you are working with a company that develops precision timing components, it takes on a different meaning. SiTime develops the technology and builds components that are critical for automotive, aerospace, defense, RF, and other industries with higher performance, smaller size, and greater reliability. Unlike the small size of their products, SiTime was expanding and outgrowing their office in Dexter, MI. They needed to find a new home to adapt to their growing office staff and laboratory spaces. When they found their new potential location, Yellowstone was brought on to create a space that would accommodate them today and into the future.

Fittingly, timing was critical. Their existing lease was expiring and having the new space ready in time was crucial.

Planning an adaptable and expandable infrastructure, especially in their lab spaces, was a key component of SiTime’s needs. SiTime brought the technical requirements to the table, and Yellowstone provided options for consideration. The final arrangement provided the infrastructure in their lab spaces that will accommodate growth and allow for reconfiguration of furniture.

Providing an open concept with good natural light for the staff was an important driver. Offices were relocated to provide an open space spanning from windows to windows at both ends of the building. Major support spaces, such as the staff gathering space and the kitchen were located along the windows to keep natural light a consistent part of everyone’s workday.

Yellowstone provided a finished space for SiTime with enough time for them to move in, avoiding any interrupted work or production time. This was all completed while incorporating design and layout changes mid-project and working with ever-changing supply chains.
